Hip & Elbow Dysplasia Scheme

The New Zealand Veterinary Association Dysplasia Scheme now has its own database, having relied in the past on statistics compiled by Dr Malcolm B Willis.  The Dysplasia Scheme is still not able to marry Dr Willis' figures as he combined the New Zealand and Australian scores.  Hence these figures apply from 1996 to date. 

The Breed Average scores are suspect if fewer than 10 dogs contributed to the calculation.

Since the individual dog's results are returned to the submitting veterinarian, the scheme relies on him/her to counsel the owner on breeding potential and the likelihood of clinical manifestations of dysplasia.  The NZVA information will answer many questions.  For specific information please go to the relevant link.
